AI-generated insights
Endometriosis Companion may use artificial intelligence (“AI”) services provided by OpenAI to generate personalised observational insights based on the information you choose to log within the app.
What information may be processed by AI systems
When you request an AI-generated insight, selected information from your tracking history may be securely sent to OpenAI’s systems for processing. This may include information such as:
- Pain scores
- Symptom logs
- Fatigue, mood and energy tracking
- Menstrual cycle and phase information
- Food and meal logs
- Exercise and activity tracking
- Supplement and medication tracking
- Sleep-related information
- User-entered notes
- AI questions you submit
- Historical pattern and tracking summaries generated from your logged data
The information sent is limited to what is reasonably necessary to generate the requested insight.
Information sent for AI processing is stripped of direct identifying information before being processed. We do not intentionally send identifying details such as your name, email address or payment information to AI systems as part of AI insight requests.
AI-generated insights are optional. You can choose not to use AI features within the app. If you do not use AI insight features, your logged health information will not be sent to OpenAI for AI-generated insight processing.
Why this information is processed
We use OpenAI’s systems to help generate observational summaries and pattern-based insights from your self-reported tracking data. These insights are designed to help users identify possible trends, recurring symptom patterns, cycle-related changes or tracking relationships over time.
The AI system is instructed to avoid providing medical diagnoses, avoid treatment recommendations, avoid certainty-based conclusions, avoid replacing professional medical advice and use cautious, observational language only.
AI-generated insights are intended for educational and self-tracking purposes only.
Where information may be processed
Information submitted for AI-generated insights may be processed on servers operated by OpenAI, including servers located outside Australia.
As a result, your personal information may be transferred to, stored in or processed in countries other than Australia. While we take reasonable steps to work with reputable providers and protect your information, overseas jurisdictions may have different privacy laws and protections than those in Australia.
AI model training
Information sent through Endometriosis Companion for AI-generated insights is not used by us to train AI models.
In addition, we configure our AI integrations so that customer data submitted through the application is not intended to be used by OpenAI for public model training purposes.
AI insights are not medical advice.
AI-generated insights are generated by request, may be incomplete or inaccurate, are based only on the information you choose to log, do not constitute medical advice, are not diagnoses and are not a substitute for advice, diagnosis or treatment from a qualified healthcare professional.
If you have concerns about symptoms, medications, severe pain, heavy bleeding, worsening symptoms or medical emergencies, you should seek advice from a qualified healthcare professional promptly.
Payment processing
Subscription payments are processed securely through Stripe, our third-party payment processing provider. We do not directly store full credit card numbers, security codes or full payment credentials.
Data storage, security & retention
We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information, including encrypted connections, secure cloud infrastructure, authentication protections, restricted access controls and database security protections. Health and tracking data is stored using Supabase cloud infrastructure hosted in Australian data regions.
Sensitive health-related information is stored using encrypted connections and access-controlled cloud infrastructure. Access to personal information is restricted to authorised systems and service providers reasonably required to operate the platform.
If you delete your account, we will take reasonable steps to delete or anonymise your personal information within a reasonable timeframe, unless retention is legally required.
Service providers & overseas processing
To operate Endometriosis Companion, we use carefully selected third-party service providers that help us provide hosting, authentication, payment processing, email delivery and AI-generated insight functionality.
Current providers may include:
- Supabase — database storage, authentication and backend infrastructure (Australian data region)
- Stripe — payment processing and subscription management
- OpenAI — optional AI-generated insight processing
- Google Workspace — email and support communications
- Cloudflare — website hosting, security and content delivery infrastructure
Some service providers may process or store information outside Australia. By using the platform and optional AI features, you acknowledge that limited information may be transferred to overseas service providers as reasonably necessary to provide the service.
We do not currently use analytics tools that collect health-event data or symptom-level tracking information.
We do not send symptom details, health logs or sensitive health information to advertising platforms, marketing pixels or behavioural advertising systems.
Service providers are only given access to information reasonably necessary to provide services on our behalf.
International users & your rights
Depending on your location and applicable laws, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, export or object to certain processing of your information.
